From $130 to $175 per m², supplied and laid

Most driveway calls we get are replacements. The old one has cracked along the tyre tracks, dropped at the crossover, or lifted over a root, and patching it just moves the problem.

The job

  1. Saw cut at the boundary and any joins with paths we’re keeping
  2. Break out and load the old concrete, pavers or asphalt. Disposal is included
  3. Sort the cause. Usually that’s a poor base or water getting under the slab, so we fix the drainage before we pour
  4. New base, mesh and pour to whatever finish you choose

Prices above are per square metre for removal plus a plain concrete replacement. Add the difference for exposed aggregate or coloured.

Process

From enquiry to a driveway you can park on

  1. Enquiry

    Call or send the form with the suburb and the type of driveway. A site measure is booked, usually within a few days.

  2. Site measure and fixed quote

    Dimensions, fall, access and drainage are assessed on site. A council crossover permit may be required for the street section. The written quote is fixed.

  3. Preparation and pour

    Existing surface removed and the area prepped, with base material brought in where needed. Mesh laid, crossover formwork inspected by council, then the pour. Most residential driveways are one day on site.

  4. Cure and seal

    Vehicles off for seven days. Exposed aggregate is sealed after the concrete has cured.

Driveway removal and replacement questions

Can you resurface instead of replacing?

If the base is sound and the cracks are only in the surface, sometimes. But most driveways that look bad are moving underneath, and an overlay will crack in the same places within a year or two. We'll tell you honestly on the site visit.

What happens with tree roots?

We cut them back at the driveway edge and lay the new slab over a thicker base with extra mesh. If it's a big street tree, council may need to be involved before we touch the roots.
